rockgarage.org rockgarage is a rock music rehearsal and concert program offered in 10-week seasons of 2-hour weekly rehearsal sessions climaxing in a concert. Testimonial: My son just finished [the musicgarage summerjam rock music day camp program]... the kids ended their 2 weeks together with a gig on Friday evening, and it was FANTASTIC! I couldn't believe how Steve could transform this eclectic bunch of kids into a band that that worked so well together in just 2 weeks! My son has played the drums for 3 years and has not yet had the opportunity to play in a band that played rock music. He tried school band but it wasn't what he really wanted to do with music, so he studied with his teacher on his own with the goal of someday forming a rock band with his friends. Unfortunately he hadn't met any friends yet who had the same goal. I was a little worried he might get discouraged playing alone and give up before he found a band. Steve's program gave him this opportunity. He's so lit up right now, having just had the chance to perform the music he loves! I have to wonder how many other kids out there in our community play rock music and don't fit into the more traditional school band scene and haven't had an opportunity to find other like minded musicians to play with. I hope that we can support Steve's program because I think it'll give kids an opportunity to participate in music that might otherwise not. - Dummer Mom |
