Do I need to be in private music lessons to enroll? Yes, however more advanced students and adults who can demonstrate the necessary muscal vocabulary to function in a band may not. This is on a case-by-case basis. Does musicgarage teach music lessons? No we do not. We organize and rehearse groups of up to 16 musicians into show casts and stage the concerts. Does my music teacher come to rehearsals? If they want to, yes - we welcome visiting teachers at rehersals and shows. We have a free special private teachers reporting service to support your lessons and a teacher referral service. Can I choose the songs that I want to perform in the show? Yes - with bandmates and producer of your session. Can I write songs and play them in concerts? Yes. Can I choose who is in my band? Yes. Before each season, just have your friends sign up for the same musicgarage session. You and your friends/bandmates can work withing a 16 member cast and play as many original or cover tunes as you want. Well, within reason. How much does musicgarage cost and how do I enroll? $250 if you pay by the enrollment deadline or $300 thereafter. You can also put $150 down by the enrollment deadline and pay the $150 balance by the first session. We accept cash or checks. Enrollment deadlines are August 30, 2009, October 30, 2009, February 28, 2010 with more to be listed here soon. We reserve the right to refuse enrollment to anyone and operate on a first-enrolled, first-served basis. Enrollment form. What if not enough people enroll by the rehearsal start date? We will refund your money or offer a credit for a future session. Do I have audition? No. What is your drug policy? People who bring drugs of any kind to musicgarage will be removed and are not welcome back. We are a safe place for musicians. The same goes for alcohol or weapons of any kind. What are the rules? Violation of any these Cardinal Rules could lead to dismissal: 1. No threats or acts of violence (even joking). 2. No destruction of property (the facility, messing with other's instruments, etc). 3. No stealing. 4. No alcohol or other drugs. 5. If you are under 18, no leaving the facility at any time without telling our staff. 6. No bad-mouthing others. If you do not like somone, that is your problem. Show respect at all times. 7. No contracting with somone to violate any of the above. 8. No weapons of any kind. 9. Respect younger people. Do not talk about "older person" stuff around the younger musicians. Respect! |
